The Eden Project is wholly owned by the Eden Trust, an educational charity (charity number 1093070). We use exhibits, events, workshops and educational programmes to remind people of our dependence on, and connection to, the natural world. We welcome over a million people every year to join in our events and learn from our exhibits and we try to ensure all our visitors leave knowing something more about their connections to the world. Beyond our site in Cornwall our purpose is to engage, entertain and inspire the imagination to a much wider audience. This work includes programmes and projects with schools, colleges and universities, and national campaigns such as The Big Lunch.

The 21st Century will be a time of radical change. Rising energy costs, changing demographics, escalating extinctions, global economic shifts, pandemics - these represent major challenges and are set against a background of climate change that may be the greatest challenge of all. Eden's aim is to help find positive futures in the face of that change. To get in shape for the challenges of the future we need a culture that knows how to sustain the things that sustain us and at the same time nurtures creativity, imagination and adaptability. With this focus, we have some special campaigns, projects and programmes running to address what we see as critical issues. This phase of our activity aims not only to enhance and develop the communications at the current visitor destination in Cornwall but also to take our messages and communications to new audiences.
