Activenture

We run residential adventure weeks for young people (8-18yrs) with special needs /disabilities (guests) at two locations: Woodrow High House (near Amersham, Bucks) and Hindleap Warren (Wych Cross, East Sussex). These take place during the school holidays all year round.

Volunteers man the weeks and are residential buddies to our guests, supporting them and encouraging participation in all activities. These may include: canoeing, archery, zip wire, wall climbing, obstacle courses, swimming, live bands, karaoke, disco, competitions, days out, and much more.Activities vary according to the location attending. Volunteers are provided with free accommodation, meals and activities.

Our volunteer roles are: Residential Helpers (13-18yrs), Residential Staff/Group Leader (18+yrs), Waking Night Staff (18+yrs), Residential Nurse (must be registered with valid PIN).

In order to attend, all volunteers must have attended our free induction training day, undertaken our CRB check (if aged 16+), and have satisfactory references.
