Incentives & awards
Volunteering means to freely give your time, so if you're in it for the money, you're barking up the wrong tree.
That said, there are lots of incentives to give your time to help others, sauch as boosting your CV, the chance to get your big break, or the chance to shine at an awards ceremony.
There are a host of recognition schemes on offer, including the vinspired vfifty and vimpact awards and the Youth Achievement Awards, and many organisations offer annual awards ceremonies to celebrate the work of young volunteers, for example:
The first ever vinspired national awards will be held on 26 November at Indigo at the O2. Nominees will be entertained by top talent including Bashy, Tinchy Stryder and Lady Sovereign at the ceremnoy, which is hosted by Jameela Jamil and James Redmond.
The Young Achievers Awards recognise inspirational young volunteers aged between 16-25 in arts, community, environment and sport.
The CHANGEit Awards recognise 11-18 year olds in the UK who want to change the world around them. Winners can get funding and training to help with their campaign, as well as networking opportunities and media exposure.
If it's freebies you're looking for try Orange Rockcorps, which lays on gigs and other rewards and prizes for volunteers. But for many volunteers, the amazing feeling they get from making a difference is enough - and anything else is just a bonus.
