What do I do if the age of the person I want to nominate is not shown in the drop down?
You can only nominate somebody for an award (apart from the volunteer support worker category) if they are aged between 16 and 25 on the 30th September 2011 even if someone is going to be 16 soon, or has just turned 26 they are not eligible for these awards. Sorry!
What are the criteria for nominating an individual volunteer?
The young volunteer must be aged between 16 and 25 on the 30th September 2011 to be nominated for an award.
They must be nominated for volunteering that has taken place during the last year, so since August 2010 (they can have been volunteering before this time as well).
Nominees do not have to have volunteered for a full year to be nominated for an award; it is the impact they have made that is most important.
Their volunteering must have been taking place in England and benefited a community in England.
What are the criteria for nominating a Team?
All Team members should be young volunteers and must all be aged between 16 and 25 on the 30th September 2011 to be nominated for an award.
Teams can be any size, however if the team you nominate is successful a maximum of 5 teams members will be invited to attend the award ceremony
They must be nominated for volunteering that has taken place during the last year, so since August 2010, however, they can have been volunteering before this time as well. Details of previous volunteering can be included to support the nomination.

You will need to provide contact details for at least two members of the team when you submit your nomination
What are the criteria for nominating a volunteer support worker?
The support worker must work for a non for profit organisation (this is an organisation that does not make money for people but puts money back into the running of the organisation to provide a service) (A non- for profit organisation can be a charity, local authority etc.)
A Support worker can be any age
They must be nominated for support they have provided to a young volunteer since August 2010 (they can have supported volunteering before this time as well).
They must have been supporting volunteering in England and benefiting volunteers in England.
What are the criteria for nominating an NCS Team?
All Team members must have volunteered on the National Citizen Service (NCS) Programme between June and September 2011
All team members being nominated must have completed the NCS and received their NCS Certificate
You can nominate any team of young people that have participated on ANY of the 12 NCS pilots in England
You will need to provide contact details for the NCS team leader and at least two members of the NCS team when you submit your nomination
