vfifty award
The vfifty award recognises young volunteers who give 50 hours of their time to help other people.
Where you volunteer and what you do is up to you - as long as you volunteer for 50 hours, you're 16-25 and you live in England, you could get your hands on a vfifty award.
It's really flexible - you could do all 50 hours over a few weekends on one volunteering project, or do a few hours a week on lots of different projects.
v defines volunteering as choosing to spend your time doing something which benefits other people (excluding your family), society or the environment - without getting paid for it. If you're doing this, you can apply for a vfifty award. It doesn't matter whether or not the organisation you volunteer for is "offering" the vinspired awards - you can apply anyway.
How to apply
Record: To get a vfifty award, you need to record 50 hours of volunteering in the record section of your profile and either write about what you did or upload some photos as evidence.
If you applied for your opportunity on vinspired, it will already be shown in the record section of your profile - just click on "add time" to start recording what you did. Don't forget to write about what you did or add photos (you won't be able to apply until you've done this).
If your volunteering opportunity isn't already in the record section of your profile, you can add it by clicking on "add other volunteering". You'll need to say where you volunteered, what your role was and add details of a referee who can confirm what you did. Once you've done this, you'll be able add hours and evidence (as described above).
Award application: Once you've recorded 50 hours, you'll be prompted to fill in a short application form which asks about the skills you used or developed, and how you helped other people, the environment or society through your volunteering. (We also need your address, so we can send you a certificate!)
You can then choose to submit your application - either to the organisation you volunteer for (if they are members of the vinspired awards network), your vinvolved team (if you're following them) or to v's central validators.
The validator will check your references and either issue your award, or let you know what you need to do to improve your application. (You can just edit your application, you don't need to start again!) We aim to validate awards within 10 days - if you have any problems, or don't hear anything, let us know at awardssupport@vinspired.com and we'll chase it up for you.
