vimpact award

The vimpact award has been designed to demonstrate 100% commitment to a voluntary project or cause.

To apply for a vimpact award, you must live in England, be aged 16-25 and have already successfully completed a vfifty award.

As well as completing another 100 hours of volunteering, you'll need to plan and evaluate your work, and share the story of what you've achieved.

If you're already volunteering, you can use up to 25 hours which you've already done before starting work on the award - as long as you didn't use these hours for your vfifty award.

The award is broken down into four main sections:

1. Plan it
Before you start, you'll need to plan what you want to achieve through your volunteering, how you'll benefit the community and use and develop your skills. This will involve talking to people about you, your skills and your project, and setting yourself goals. You'll need to record all of this in the application form in the awards tab of your profile.

2. Do it
To get the most out of the vimpact award, choose one volunteering project where you’d like to make a difference. However, if you're volunteering on more than one project, it may be helpful to think about undertaking similar volunteering activities. For example, you might decide that they’d like to make a positive impact on the environment – you could then choose to volunteer for a conservation charity and a recycling project. You would not need to complete the different sections of vimpact award twice online. Instead, your answers for each section should take both of your volunteering projects into consideration.

Complete 100 hours of volunteering (not including the hours you used for your vfifty). Keep a record of the hours you do and add evidence (make sure you add some or you won't be able to submit your award) in the record section of your profile.

3. Review it
A chance to reflect and get feedback from others about what you’ve achieved through your volunteering, and record the skills you've used to achieve your goals. You'll be prompted to record this on the vimpact application form when you've completed your 100 hours and evidence.

4. Tell others
Your chance to promote your achievements and share your story to help inspire others to volunteer.

To start your vimpact award, log in to your profile and fill in the plan-it application form in the awards tab. (If you did your vfifty offline, you'll need to enter details and your certificate number before you can access the vimpact a "add a previous award" before you can start doing a vimpact award.)
