We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to help promote the Summer Reading Challenge. If you are interested in using a wide range of media to publicise the Summer Reading Challenge, including blogging, taking photos and talking to local press, then this is the role for you.

The Summer Reading Challenge involves 780,000 children in libraries all over the UK. This year’s Challenge is called Story Lab. If you have been involved before, or know about the Summer Reading Challenge, and enjoy design and media work, there are opportunities to help library staff with promoting the Challenge. Your role could include: • Going into schools with presentations about the Challenge • Creating displays in the library • Using local web opportunities to promote the Challenge via blogging, photos and news items. • Talking to local press • Doing interviews for local radio/TV You will be supported by library staff and given training at the library. You can choose how many hours you do and when you want to come in (minimum 10 hours over the summer).
