The Summer Reading Challenge involves 780,000 children in libraries all over the UK. This year’s Challenge is called Story Lab. If you have been involved before, and would like to expand your role and take on new responsibilities, there are opportunities to help library staff with managing the Challenge. Your role could include: • Working with a planning team • Thinking up Story Lab activities and ideas • Helping to develop volunteer roles • Planning how to recruit volunteers • Supporting other young people, including volunteers • Book selection You will be supported by library staff and given training at the library. You can choose how many hours you do and when you want to come in (minimum 10 hours over the summer).
