Are you up for the challenge?

We are looking for volunteers from 16-25 to become Summer Reading Challenge Champions.  If you love books and reading, want experience working with children and enjoy talking with people then why not sign up?

During the summer Milton Keynes Libraries get very busy, last year we had over 2500 children taking part in the Sumer Reading Challenge and this year, with your help, we'd like to see even more!  You will be asked to enroll them in the challenge, keep track of their progress, hand out incentives, help them choose their next title and most importantly talk with them about what they have been reading.

We would like you to commit at least 10 hours during the summer holidays with one session lasting 2-3 hours, days and times are flexible and there will be opportunities available in most of our branches.

If you are interested please get in touch.  You may be asked to attend an interview and there will be a group induction evening that you should attend before the start of the summer holidays.  This will tell you more about the role, what we expect from you and what you should expect from us.
