Schedule 1.2
The Judging process
The judging panel will include:
A member of v20 (v’s youth advisory board)
A member of the marketing team from v
A member of Cake Media Ltd (the event production agency)
The volunteer co-ordinator
A member of v’s policy team
General criteria for judges to consider:
Will the talent showcase being proposed inspire and involve other young people – is it creative, interesting, different and will it help to change perceptions of volunteering?
Can the person actually do what they say they can do e.g. sing/dance/play/perform (the videos will enable us to judge this)
Has the young person fully considered what they will do for the 4 hours they are being asked to volunteer for each day and does it seem reasonable to fill the time?
How many people do they want to bring with them to do whatever it is they want to do e.g. if there is 5 people in a band wanting to do something this might be the only group application we can allow for the event as we won’t have enough tickets.
How much equipment do they need and how much will it cost for v to provide it- is this prohibitively expensive?
v wants to showcase different talent at each festival so an important consideration will be getting diverse opportunities across each festival and a good spread of different hobbies and passions e.g. this could be: knitting workshop, band do a set, someone offers to teach a group of young people to drum etc.
Could the talent showcase drive media coverage?
