    About the steering Group

     

    In order to achieve our project aims we intend to establish a young person’s steering group that will drive this project forward. You will make descisions regarding branding and project identity, recruiting young volunteers, training and upholding of key project values. The project will run until June 2011 and we would hope to work with the group for the duration of the project.

     

    Who can join the steering group?

     

    • You don’t need to be an expert on Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums but you will be interested in learning more
    • You will want to contribute to a team
    • You will have an open mind and be considerate of others
    • You will want to help make a positive impact for other young volunteers
    • You will be prepared to commit short but regular periods of time for the length of the project (until June 2011)

     What will the steering group do?

     

    • ‘Steer’ or guide the project to attract and involve other young people (16 – 25)
    • Make decisions as a group
    • Create a brand for the project
    • Decide what the project values mean to you
    • See behind the scenes in Museums and Galleries
    • Meet and work alongside Museum and Gallery staff
