More info
how does your garden grow? aims to give local people an opportunity to learn to grow their own food while having fun working outdoors with their friends and neighbours. Volunteers will learn practical skills in horticulture and how to manage a plot of land for food as well as meeting like-minded people and learning how to manage a community-run project.
Volunteers will be responsible for demonstrating their new skills to participants so that they can grow their own food at home too. As well as developing peoples' growing skills, volunteers interested in event management will have the chance to organise cookery and gardening workshops. The workshops will invite everyone in the local area to celebrate local food while enjoying the delicious fruits of their labour!
There are 5 positions up for grabs so if you are interested in making a difference to your local community in 2011 please click 'I'd like to do this!'
