Recycle: Collaborate. Inspire: Create is a youth-led project which will be encouraging young people from all backgrounds who may not necessarily have had any experience in volunteering to help out at a three day event. At the event, the volunteers will be assisting participants in creating sculptures inspired by the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games made out of recyclable materials.

The recyclable materials will have been gained from people dropping in such items in the weeks running up to the event. People will also be able to drop items in throughout the duration of the event. Each of the volunteers would have to bring in at least one full black bag of recyclable materials. Participants on the three days don’t necessarily have to be there every day, but it might be a nice little project for them to be on for part of their half term. They would be advised to: collect the recycling at home and bring it in on the days they come in or drop it off in the weeks leading up to the three day event. Those dropping recycling off don’t even have to take part if they don’t want to. They can leave the recycling with us and we’ll put it to good use.

After the project has finished, the models will be exhibited for a few weeks after the event for all to see the hard and inspiring work which has been put into them.

The title Recycle: Collaborate. Inspire: Create breaks up as so:

Recycle: Putting recycleable materials to use
    Collaborate: Working together
Inspire: The effect of the finished product will be to inspire with the models created, which themselves have been inspired by the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games.
Create: With all the tools and resources from the other three, we will be creating the inspiring models as mentioned.

The effect should be that those involved will have been inspired by the work that they and others have created, using inspiration in the first place for thoughts of what to create, including those who come to see the exhibited models, hopefully making them go 'Wow!'. Aswell as creating awareness of how important recycling is to those that have been involved, and others that see the work that has been produced.

If anyone interested feels that they would like to be involved, but can't necessarily make it to the event, please still apply as we're also looking for people who are willing to do some online work, i.e. research too, so you wouldn't necessarily have to be present at the event, but will have had an input leading up to it :-)
