art in action is a project that will provide social interaction for the elderly using art
When we need you:

- Weekdays and Weekends
, we will set up an appropriate work space and spend two or three mornings or afternoons a week creating works of art. The art will be kept by the participants of the care home. I will also incorporate a group art activity, such as an image made from hand prints, and if everyone gives consent there will be a photo collage made of the project that the care home can keep. The project will end in a showcase of all the participants work that everyone will be invited to.

I want to use art to facilitate social interaction between youth volunteers and the elderly. The project will be a painting project, although I will offer alternative activities for the less able, such as silk scarf/ tie painting and clay/salt dough sculpting. The project aims to promote and improve a mutual respect between the elderly and youth. The project will highlight friendship and offer a boost in confidence to all those involved, you should leave the project feeling like you've relay made a difference to an individuals life!
