                                          Volunteer Role Specification

Volunteer Opportunity Title: Event Support, London

Time Commitment:

Attending an induction session at the vInspired offices in London

Working during the day and evening of Thursday March 22nd 2012 (the date of the National Awards)

Able to be in London during the day of Thursday March 22nd and help out at the venue until midnight

Age Specification: 18-25

Travel and Expenses: We will provide travel, accommodation and basic expenses for volunteers living outside of London.

Role and Responsibilities:

• You will need to be there on the day and evening of the event to ensure that everything is going to plan and everything is set up ready for the arrival of guests. This support will be on-going throughout the evening.
• You will need to manage the flow of guests around the venue
• You will need to welcome and sign guests in as they arrive at the venue
• Usher guests to their seats
• You might be selling vInspired merchandise to help raise vital funds for vInspired
• You will need to help get guests excited about being at the ceremony!
•  Throughout the evening, the volunteer will be a representative of v, and therefore will need to know the basic key messages and aims of the organisation, and will need to behave responsibly and respectfully.

•  Outgoing, and confident in speaking to new people

• A clear understanding of vInspired’s key messages, aims and work.
• Reliable
• Able to take your own initiative.
