                                             Volunteer Role Specification

Volunteer Opportunity Title: Volunteer Photographer, London

Time Commitment:

Face-to-face induction in London prior to commencing role.

The day and evening of the ceremony, which will take place on Thursday 22nd March in London.

Between 2 and 4 hours after the event to edit and put up your work on the vInspired social networks.

Age Specification: 18-25

Travel and Expenses: We will provide travel, accommodation and basic expenses for volunteers living outside of London.

Role and Responsibilities:

• You will spend the night capturing amazing photographs of the vInspired National Awards ceremony 2012.
• You will be taking photographs in the afternoon and evening of the event, both front-stage and backstage.
• You will need to take at least 100 good quality photos.
• With the guidance of vInspired you will need to identify and potentially choreograph the best scenes to photograph. You will need to edit their pictures, and with guidance from vInspired, and upload them to vInspired’s social network pages after the event.
• Throughout the evening, the volunteer will be a representative of vInspired, and therefore will need to know the basic key messages and aims of the organisation, and will need to behave responsibly and respectfully.

PLEASE NOTE: We will have a camera that you can use, but you are more than welcome to bring your own. It would also be ideal if you have Adobe Photoshop and a laptop. Skills and qualities:

Photography experience:

• An eye for interesting and creative photographic content.
• Confidence with a camera.
• Experience of taking photographs for a company, preferably at a similar event. Good communication skills
• Confidence approaching strangers
• A team player, but also the ability to take your own initiative when required.
• A clear understanding of vInspired’s brand, key messages and aims.
• Reliability
• Flexibility
• Enthusiasm

• You will create content for your portfolio that will potentially be visible to vInspired’s 5000 social media followers and potentially to our communications database of over 50,000 young people.
