More info
There are hundreds of miles of canals in the North West, linking the old industrial heartlands of our towns and cities to the most peaceful countryside, via the trendiest new developments. They provide an amazingly rich habitat for wildlife, and space people to walk, cycle, boat, fish or just chill out by the waterside. The Waterways Action Squad needs publicity and interpretation materials to attract more people to explore and care for their local canals – and this is where your creative eye can make all the difference. We need people to help us build up a library of professional quality images that reflect all the different sides of the waterways, that will then be used for future publicity, right across the country. You will of course be free to pursue your own artistic interests and build up your own portfolio – and will be eligible to enter our Photography Competion ‘The Secret Life of Canals’ (closing 12 March 2010) where you could win a day out boating for you and your mates! -
