Volunteering opportunities at the annual Rochdale Canal Festival launch on 24th July. Organised by The Waterways Trust, the opening event will take place at Failsworth Basin, Oldham and a nearby community allotment site. The Waterways Action Squad is recruiting for volunteer stewards/ marshals to guide the visitors to all the activities at each site (including boat rides, angling, nature focussed activities and crafts), be available to provide information on timings for each activity, help out with children’s activities, take bookings and help gather feedback from visitors using a questionnaire survey.
This is a great opportunity to meet new people and join in the festivities at a busy canal festival.
