    Do you want to make your mark on Manchester city centre? On Friday 5th February Waterways Action Squad will be cleaning up a large section of the Asthon canal from Great Ancotes Street up to Manchester City Stadium. This area is really grimey at the moment with loads of litter and overgrown vegetation. We want to get a small group out wombling for the morning with litter pickers and trimming back the overgrown plantlife and as a reward for your hard work there will be a fishing taster session in the afternoon on the canalwhere you will receive angling lessons from qualified coaches. There may even be a prize for the biggest catch of the day (shopping trolleys don't count!) This clean up is part of a week of tidying up in this area which has been organised by the police so the whole area should be looking spick and span once we finish. Please only apply for this opportunity if you can make it to Manchester (near Piccadilly station) on 5th Feb.
