The Child Safety Education Coalition (CSEC) is working to develop resources to encourage young people to enjoy their local waterways safely and responsibly – and they need your help to make it appealing and relevant to you and your peers. This role would see you working with schools as well as diverse youth and community groups asking them what they use the waterways for, what they think of them, what the dangers are and what changes they think need to be made in order to make them safer places for young people. You will be involved in all aspects of the project from site visits, planning activities along the canals, identifying and minimising possible risks, designing games and publicity, creating resource packs and a range of educational materials and delivering workshop sessions to promote the message of water safety. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in working with children and young people / project management / peer leadership / resource development and so on.
