With the summer holiday a couple of months away, we thought we'd share with ways you can spend this summer gaining experience, learning some skills but most importantly having fun.
Have a "Summer of a Lifetime"

Join a two wheeled revolution
Join an Otesha summer cycle tour, deliver workshops and perform a play about environmental and social sustainability in schools and youth clubs as you cycle across the UK.
They’ll be taking in the delights of the UK from their saddles, performing a play, making the world a better place, learning new skills, meeting new friends, and generally making mischief. Find out more

There is still time to apply to be part of some of  the world’s greatest festivals. Glastonbury, Latitude, Womad, Bestival, Shambala the list goes on and on. You’ll have to be quick though as places are filling up!

If you're aged 18-22, ICS is offering you a once-in-a-lifetime chance to spend three months in Africa, Asia or Latin America changing the lives of some of the world's poorest people. It's a chance to work on real development projects alongside young people from developing countries.
Throw a party
Here's the deal. You throw a Bollocks to Poverty party using our free kit. Your mates get a good night out. You get respect. ActionAid gets support. People living in poverty get the power to improve their lives. All because you ditched the guilt and did something you love. Whether it's a house party, gig, club night, exhibition, comedy night, sports event or summer festival, whatever you choose to do it will make a real difference to people working hard to end their own poverty.

Create a monologue and see it performed by a celebrity
Write a monologue showing how you have overcome a challenge and achieved success and in a special one-off performance for My Personal Best, a celebrity cast will perform it.
Create crazy nature costumes for
The RSPB are looking for creative people to help design and make fun costumes for Love Nature Week. You do not have to have any previous experience making costumes, just time and energy.
Build a medicine garden
Join in on a community build to creating a hospital-themed landscape out of reclaimed timber, salvaged materials and donated plants. The garden will be shaped by the hospital and the pharmacy, with a focus on medicinal plants and herbs, celebrating the health and wellbeing of our cities and environments.
The barefoot Games
Calling all artists, photographers, filmmakers, PRs, dancers, musicians, event coordinators! The Barefoot Games  exciting volunteering opportunities and projects on site at the Eden project and across the county. It aims to reconnect these people with their natural environment through interactive event sincluding sports, using the 2012 Olympic Games as inspiration.

Go Barefoot!Volunteer at the Barefoot Games

The Barefoot Games have loads of  exciting volunteering opportunities and projects on site at the Eden project and across the county. Using the 2012 Olympic Games as inspiration it aims to reconnects people with their natural environment through interactive events. They are looking for photographers, musicians, film-makers, event coordinators, artists and dancers. Get involved!
