Stay safe on vinspired.com
We can’t check out every single volunteering opportunity posted on vinspired.com, or every member using it, so please follow these guidelines to keep safe.
Opportunities on vInspired
All of the organisations posting opportunities to vInspired have agreed to make sure their opportunities meet all of the laws designed to keep you safe, and to meet best practice standards of volunteer management. However, because we do not organise these opportunities ourselves, we can’t guarantee that these standards will be met. Do not apply to or attend any opportunities if you feel suspicious about them – get in touch with us instead at info@vinspired.com and we’ll check it out for you.
If you’re under 18, get permission from a parent or guardian before applying for an opportunity.
When you apply for an opportunity, we will send your name, age, email address and postcode to the person organising the opportunity, so that they can contact you to take your application further. If you don’t want us to do this, don’t apply for the opportunity.
If you receive any contact from a voluntary organisation that you think is inappropriate or makes you feel uncomfortable or unhappy, please email us straight away info@vinspired.com, so that we can take immediate action. However, if you're in immediate danger or want urgent help, then call 999, or get in contact with your local police or the CEOP Internet Safety Centre.
Any organisation which breaks our terms and conditions will be removed from vinspired.com. Any illegal activity will be reported to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.
Passwords
For your security, your vinspired password must be at least 8 characters long, and must be a mix of letters and numbers or symbols.
Treat your password like your toothbrush - don't share it with anyone. Also, to make sure no one else has a chance of guessing your password, don't use anything obvious like your name, your pet’s name, or your favourite band.
Profiles Stay anonymous online. Don’t post personal details such as your messenger ID, phone number or email address on public areas of the site. (It’s OK to put these in your profile when you register, as we’ll keep it safe, in line with our privacy policy.)
Please don’t use a username or avatar that is rude or offensive or we will have to remove you from the site and in any case you’ll probably put off the people you’re applying to volunteer for.
User generated content on vInspired
Respect yourself and other people online. Please make sure the photos and comments you post on vinspired are suitable to share. If you post anything that’s offensive, threatening, obscene, bullying, misleading, unreliable or likely to put you or other people at risk we’ll take it down and may ban you from using the site.
You mustn't upload anything that's copyright protected – if you didn't take a picture yourself, you must ensure you have the right to use it. Don’t just copy stuff that isn't yours. Don't retaliate or reply if someone does or says something you don't like or you think other people on the site may not like. Just report it.
