Skills:
Age:

When:
Weekends, Weekdays, Evenings, And Flexible
Where:
Remote
Through our partnership with over 80 schools across Leicester and Leicestershire, we collect old pens (and other special plastic items that can't normally be recycled) and send them to special facilities across the country that melt them down and remake them into new items.
Your role will be to check and count the items, report back to us so that we can send them off to the special recycling centres. As these are special items, your role is extremely important to us aiming for 100% of items sent to be recycled, as any mixing of the wrong items can damage the recycling stream. Your audits will also allow us to support schools to improve their efforts and ensure that we work towards a truly waste free system.
You will need to have access to transport, as you will have to collect and drop off the items to our base in Leicester city and a suitable, well ventilated space for you to work. You will be given PPE, training and on going support. You will be responsible for working at whatever pace you feel is best for you.
If you are a young person doing this towards your DofE Award, minimum standards will be set for the duration of the award period.
OPEN TO ALL AGES. Due to the nature of the volunteering under 16's will need to have parent/guardian consent.
