Volunteer Co-ordinator for Funtime Games

We are looking for a Volunteers Co-ordinator to develop and lead our volunteer strategy for our Funtime Games project. You will be responsible for all aspects of volunteering including recruitment, induction, training, support and volunteer engagement and retention. Our volunteers provide practical help to support the development of our gaming project for young people and their families. In this role you will be coordinating and supporting a team of volunteers, you need a friendly demeanour, and an ability to get on with people from different backgrounds and age groups. You will be an important member of our small and welcoming team, working closely with CEO/Director of Wakefield team to deliver a great volunteer experience and service to young people. Working remotely you will be helping Think Cre8tive Group CIC develop and grow its Funtime Games UK project to become a sustainable one. Our mission at Funtime Games is to provide a safe and secure place where young people can meet, make friends and explore their creativity through a passion that they love. We strive to create a positive fun environment for all to play and interact by making every young person feel valued by celebrating their differences.

Role Description
  • Responsible for engaging, developing and supporting volunteers

  • Work closely with our CEO/Director of Wakefield team to manage volunteers (develop, train, support, monitor and analyse volunteer involvement)

  • Liaise with the CEO/Director of Wakefield team office team regarding volunteer roles and their requirements
  • Maintain volunteer database and records.

  • Manage the development and update of policies and procedures that are fundamental to volunteering
  • Provide support, supervision and guidance to volunteers.

  • Lead on volunteer celebration events, including volunteers week

  • Work closely with our Social Media specialist to promote volunteering on our various social channels, and to champion diversity and inclusion. 

Experience
Experience of supporting, supervising and guiding volunteers.
Experience of delivering induction and training programmes volunteers
Knowledge of best practise of volunteer management
The ability to build effective relationships and excellent communication skills. 
Strong administration and IT skills. 
Knowledge and experience of using communication apps/software such as Discord.
Experience of using MSOffice & Google Drive.

A passion for mental health and helping young people to thrive is a plus.
