This is a voluntary role with a minimum commitment of 12 months with the UK-based charity, Students for Kids International Project. Continuation beyond this will be reviewed in line with SKIP’s organisational needs and your performance. We are committed to retaining and supporting volunteer leaders who contribute meaningfully to our mission.

Key Responsibilities:
- Take a leading role in developing and delivering SKIP’s ad hoc and unrestricted fundraising strategy, with a focus on supporting central operational costs (e.g. infrastructure, capacity building, compliance, and training).
- Work closely with project teams and Trustees to understand financial needs and ensure alignment between fundraising initiatives and SKIP’s evolving organisational strategy.
- Design and implement creative, ethical, and sustainable fundraising activities, including individual giving, challenge events, corporate sponsorships, grant applications, and digital campaigns.
- Lead or contribute to the development of SKIP’s fundraising narrative, communicating its vision and theory of change to funders and supporters.
- Build SKIP’s fundraising capacity by supporting documentation (e.g., case for support, pitch decks), developing fundraising processes, and training volunteers where appropriate.
- Collaborate with the Board of Trustees to review progress against targets, identify risks, and adapt approaches as needed.
- Contribute to cross-functional meetings and provide updates to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective coordination with other workstreams.
Time Commitment
The expected time commitment is approximately 5 hours per week. This may vary in response to campaign timelines, deadlines, or events. We understand this is a voluntary role and encourage open communication if you need to take time away (e.g. exams, holidays).
Skills
Essential
- Strong interest in global child health, education, or development.
- Experience/strong desire to gain experience in fundraising, marketing, communications, or business development.
- Self- starter with ability to design and manage fundraising campaigns or events with oversight.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
- Comfortable with digital tools for fundraising and campaign management (e.g. social media, CRM platforms, donation tools).
- Alignment with SKIP’s values, including sustainability, equity, and child empowerment.
Desirable
- Previous experience working or volunteering in a charity or social impact organisation.
- Understanding of unrestricted vs restricted fundraising strategies and how to build a case for central/operational funding.
- Familiarity with project budgeting, donor reporting, or financial forecasting.
- Ability to work across diverse teams and support students and professionals alike.
