Igniter Shortlisted for Nominet Internet Award
Igniter, our innovative crowdfunding platform designed for young people, has been recognized for its exceptional contribution by being shortlisted for the Nominet Internet Awards 2013. This accolade acknowledges the dedication and effort involved in launching a platform that empowers youth to fundraise for community-enhancing projects.
Empowering Young Innovators
We developed Igniter because we believe in the potential of young people to lead and establish impactful projects within their communities. At the core of our mission is the focus on youth, and leveraging digital technology is crucial to maintain our relevance with them.
Igniter aims to promote social action and entrepreneurship as viable career paths, highlighting young social entrepreneurs and inspiring leadership in community support. This platform addresses a critical need by providing opportunities for young people to secure funding for local community projects that drive social good.
A Collaborative Effort with Digital Expertise
Igniter was crafted in collaboration with the digital agency Yoomee as a minimum viable product. By utilizing the Lean Startup methodology, we aimed to assess the platform’s appeal and functionality. The initial round of crowdfunded projects was a resounding success, with all eight initiatives achieving full funding ahead of their deadlines. The feedback and insights collected have been invaluable in refining and enhancing the platform.
