NCS Summer of a Lifetime Youth Advisory Group: Olympics, 2012 and Celebration Events
The NCS Summer of a Lifetime Youth Advisory Group recently reconvened to discuss exciting developments and opportunities for young people. This meeting was a vibrant showcase of teamwork and collaboration, focusing on optimizing our strategies for youth volunteering programs and initiatives.
Meeting Highlights
In the morning session, we engaged in goal setting and project management to enhance recruitment and retention for the 2012 NCS program. Our brainstorming led to innovative ideas, including leveraging social media platforms like Facebook and YouTube, as well as collaborating with radio stations such as Magic FM to reach parents effectively.
We also explored ways to integrate the Olympic values into the Summer of a Lifetime project. As an Olympic Young Leader, my experience provided valuable insights into aligning our initiatives with the spirit of the upcoming games.
Afternoon Session and Future Plans
The afternoon was dedicated to evaluating the program’s impact. We devised a comprehensive feedback mechanism to gather insights from participants, ensuring we continually improve the experience. Additionally, we brainstormed on how to make the celebration events memorable, planning to travel nationwide to implement our strategies.
Don’t miss out: There is still time to apply for the Summer of a Lifetime program—a fantastic opportunity for Year 11 students to engage in rewarding activities.
