Volunteer to hear a child read and improve their life chances.

Do you have a spare hour or two a week and want to help change the life of a child in Gloucestershire? We're looking for volunteers to hear children read, twice a week, for 15-20 minutes. Our volunteers provide one to one time. This creates discussion which in turn improves social and communication skills and builds confidence, enhancing their life chances.

About Read With Me

Read With Me CIC are an organisation that provide one-to-one support in schools, to help every child learn to read well before they go to secondary school and take a full part in education. We currently have a 200 strong team of volunteers that hear children read for 15-20 minutes, twice a week. This helps to improve their social and literacy skills, as well as their confidence. We also run Not So Secret Book Clubs during the school holidays, that are free to attend and fun for the whole family.
