vInspired Launches New Schools Programme in Birmingham
Bournville College is the first of our ambassador schools to receive a vInspired training workshop.
As the launch of the new vInspired Schools Programme gets underway, we have been forging connections with schools and colleges across the country. To help kickstart the programme, provide feedback on resources, and support us in gathering valuable case studies, we have been working with eight ambassador schools.
What They Learned
Bournville College recently received training on how to utilize our new web-based volunteering platform.
Five tutors from the Business and Public Services Department spent the afternoon having a guided tour of the website and learning how they can add their own volunteering opportunities, which they can promote to their students. The new website will allow schools and colleges to promote their own opportunities to students and will provide them with a useful tracking tool to capture students’ volunteering hours and activities. Students can create a profile to log volunteering hours towards the v Awards, search for new opportunities, and create a volunteering CV.
What They Said
Phil Bancroft, Director of Business, Leisure and Public Services said, “Being part of the new vInspired Schools Programme is really exciting. For the first time, we can promote volunteering opportunities to students, encourage them to develop their own funded projects, support them to log their hours, and it also provides a tracking tool for us, all in one place.”
Over the next few months, we will be supporting more schools and colleges to get started with our new programme. Sign up to vInspired Schools to be one of them!
