An Apple a Day Keeps Negativity Away
We always strive to spread positivity online from our headquarters at Vinspired. Meanwhile, Team V has been actively engaging communities to maintain mental health and well-being.
Make Time For Your Mind
The new campaign, Make Time For Your Mind, emphasizes the significance of mental well-being and encourages positive steps to care for your mind. Teams across the country embarked on a mission with their Mind Trees and blank apples, inviting the public to share their mental wellness tips. Participants wrote their advice on apples and added them to the trees, creating a bushel of positivity.
Team V Leader visited Cardiff University to gather “mind apples” from students of the Heath Park Campus. In exchange for chocolate, students shared their happiness tips, contributing to the Make Time For Your Mind campaign.
What 5 Things Do You Do Regularly to Look After Your Mind?
Common themes emerged, including:
- Learning new skills and appreciating nature
- Meditation
- Solving puzzles
- Cooking
- Volunteering or helping others
Exercise was frequently mentioned, with activities like dancing, Zumba classes, walking the dog, running, gym sessions, and bike rides. A personal favorite was thinking positively and appreciating what we have.
Alternative Ideas
Not all “apples” had generic advice; some were creative, soulful, or unique, such as:
- Eating fish
- Engaging in crafts
- Practicing aromatherapy
- Caring for pets
- Enjoying TV quizzes
Motivational tips included “always give 100% to get more back” and “make plans for enjoyable activities to focus on and look forward to.” Brain training games were also a popular mention.
Thanks to everyone who contributed an apple card, sharing ideas and fostering mutual support.
An apple a day keeps negativity away can indeed contribute to better mental health.
