About this Opportunity
- We are the UK’s leading charity dedicated to supporting people affected by lymphoma, the most common blood cancer. We’ve been providing trusted information and support since 1986. We’re here for everyone affected by lymphoma. Together, we can make sure no one faces lymphoma alone.
Join our Hype Squad!
On Sunday 26th April, we have a team of 70 runners taking on the most iconic marathon in the world! It also happens to be the happiest and most inspiring place on the planet for those few racing hours. We are looking for people who would like to join our squad of cheerleaders, both out on the course and at the finish line. A shift of just 3 hours would make a huge difference to our incredible runners who are set to raise over £200,000 for Lymphoma Action.
We'll provide the resources, so all you need to do is turn up on the day!
Whether you’d like to join our early bird team, our midday motivators or our finish line fanatics, any time you offer will be hugely appreciated. We're loud, proud, small but mighty and we need your support to help our incredible runners to the finish line.
Why cheer?
- Free t-shirt and special 40th anniversary medal for every member of the cheer squad.
- Free noise makers.
- Be a vital part in a truly spectacular day in London. There's nothing like the atmosphere and joy of the London Marathon, it's just brilliant to be a part of!
What's involved?
You will be supported by staff on the day and provided with the resources you need. We're holding 3 cheer points:
- Early bird brigade, 8am-11am: Join our staff to set up our space and get ready for the race. Lap up the atmosphere and watch the pro runners fly past!
- Midday motivators, 10am-2pm: This is when we're likely to see our first Lymphoma Action runners so be ready to cheer, scream and send them on their way.
- Finish line fanatics, 2pm-6pm: We have a finish line party planned for Horse Guards parade to welcome our runners home and celebrate an incredible achievement.
Where travel is involved, we reimburse reasonable expenses. Staff will offer a quick optional Zoom meeting on Wednesday 22 April at 6.45pm to answer any questions and introduce themselves.
A personal connection to lymphoma is not required for this role. Over 18s only.
