About this Opportunity

Our aim is to help you inspire your mentee to see challenges as opportunity, broadening their horizons, options and possibilities for their future.

Students in a pupil referral unit (PRU) have been permanently or temporarily excluded from their mainstream school.

They may experience low self esteem, low attainment levels, friendship breakdown, feeling misunderstood and lacking in purpose, direction and motivation.

In addition, they are often experiencing or have experienced family breakdown, peer pressure, family issues and concerns or buylling.

We will support and train you in positive psychology and mentoring techniques to support young people facing these challenges.

If you can offer commitment, reliability and your life experience to Unfold a young person's potential, we’ll help you with the rest.

What to Expect After Applying

Following the submission of your application, you will be contacted by one of our Programme Officers for an interview, which is an informal chat to get to know you better, for you to find out more about what we do and to ask any questions. Following the interview, If you are right for Unfold, you will then be guided through the next steps to include DBS and reference checks and training.
