Team v Campaign Two: Combating Loneliness Together
It’s been an inspiring week for one of our most impactful programs at Vinspired.
Introducing Team v
In 2011, we launched Team v to empower young volunteers aged 18-25 to create change through focused campaigns. Driven by socially conscious youths, forty team leaders across England have spearheaded three national campaigns.
Tackling Food Poverty
The first campaign targeting food poverty concluded successfully. During a recent Team v residential meeting, we celebrated significant achievements:
- Recruitment of over 300 volunteers
- Collection of 20,000 food items
- Assistance to over 7,000 individuals affected by food poverty
These are fantastic accomplishments that everyone involved is rightfully proud of.
The Next Challenge: Combating Loneliness and Isolation
Our next campaign, running from January to March, aims to tackle loneliness among older community members. Inspired by the Campaign to End Loneliness, which shows 1 in 10 older individuals face intense isolation, our participants are motivated to make a positive impact.
Supported by the Beth Johnson Foundation Centre for Intergenerational Practice and Vinspired staff, our young leaders will:
- Engage with older people to identify solutions for loneliness
- Organize social events tailored to their needs
- Conduct awareness activities to highlight the effects of loneliness
We’re proud of our teams’ achievements and eager to support them further.
Empowering Future Leaders
Team v leaders receive comprehensive training and can apply for scholarships up to £1,000 upon program completion, fostering self-development through volunteering.
