
Training & Safeguarding Officer
Help ensure our volunteers are supported, developed, and kept safe. As a Training & Safeguarding Officer, you will assist with the delivery and coordination of volunteer training, support the charity's safeguarding processes, and help maintain a safe and positive environment for volunteers and members of the public. You may help organise training events, maintain training records, promote best practice, and support safeguarding awareness across the charity. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, approachable, and passionate about volunteer development and welfare. Full training and support will be provided where required.

Training & Safeguarding Officer – North West First Responder Group
North West First Responder Group (NWFRG) is a volunteer-led charity that supports Community First Responders, delivers free CPR and AED awareness sessions, and funds, installs, and maintains Public Access Defibrillators across communities in the North West.
We are seeking dedicated and professional Training & Safeguarding Officers to help support the development, wellbeing, and safety of our volunteers. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping others, maintaining high standards, and ensuring volunteers have access to the training and support they need to succeed.
As a Training & Safeguarding Officer, you will work alongside the Training & Safeguarding Lead to promote a positive, safe, and supportive volunteering environment across the charity.
What will you do?
Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with the planning, coordination, and delivery of volunteer training sessions.
- Supporting the administration of training records and volunteer development programmes.
- Promoting good safeguarding practices across the charity.
- Assisting with safeguarding awareness and volunteer welfare initiatives.
- Helping volunteers access appropriate training and development opportunities.
- Supporting the review and implementation of training and safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Assisting with volunteer inductions and onboarding activities.
- Providing guidance and signposting volunteers to appropriate support where required.
- Supporting the charity in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and professional environment for all volunteers and members of the public.
What skills are we looking for?
Previous experience in training, education, safeguarding, healthcare, emergency services, youth work, or volunteer management would be beneficial but is not essential.
