Our Volunteers are at the heart of the day to day running of our shops. We thank you for your time given to the charity. The shops provide much needed income to provide nursing care for our patients. Our purpose is to care for our patients and to support their families and friends. Whilst aiming to provide the most efficient and provide appropriate care, both physically and emotionally in their home or at the Hospice.

As mentor to a young person between the ages of 11-16, you will meet together on a weekly basis initially at your mentee's school, encouraging and motivating your mentee to make steps towards positive change.

If you are interested in history or gaining experience working in with archival and library collections services this might be the ideal role for you. For the role of an Archive, Library and Research volunteer you will assist in checking and recording details about collections items and ensuring accurate records of each of the collections systems.

If you are looking at gaining experience working in records management and digitisation or have a passion for history then this is the role for you. As a Collections Information Digitisation Volunteer you will learn how to digitise documents and make them accessible. You will also ensure that the records are accurate according to the museums procedures. Overall, this role will help you to develop an understanding about digitisation as well as information security.

The RAF Museum has acquired large collections of photographs showing aviation at the end of the 20th century. Help is needed with the digitization and cataloguing of the collections with the aim of getting them online. It is also hoped these images can be used in the new exhibition being prepared for the RAF Museum’s Midlands Development Programme and will add value to the project. The RAF Museum’s Midlands Development Programme MDP comprises a major regional engagement programme supported by a new collections hub, learning centre, contemporary exhibition and co-curated interpretive interventions across the site.

We are urgently looking for Shop Volunteers to help with serving customers, sorting and pricing goods, making displays, and other roles. Volunteers need to be able to assist with moving furniture.
