About Us

Devon Air Ambulance Trust is the Charity which raises the funds to Devon's two Air Ambulances flying. The Charity is independent of Government and National Lottery funding and it costs in the region of £5.5 million each year to keep both helicopters flying. From our two airbases we can reach 90% of Devon within just 10 minutes, with the remainder within 15 minutes. We undertake life-saving missions; going to incidents such as road traffic collisions and equestrian accidents as well as medical emergencies such as cardiac arrests and stokes.

We take the patient to the most appropriate hospital, which is often not the closest one to the incident but one further away which provides the specialist treatment the patient’s condition requires.

We have over 400 volunteers and we wouldn't be able to manage without them. We are currently desperate for volunteers at our 16 Charity shops throughout Devon. You can find a list of shops here www.daat.org/shops

Roles include customer service, window displays, sorting and steaming. Volunteering looks great on your CV and can help you to get on a career path. It's great for your confidence and you'll gain valuable work experience. Come and join our team!
