About Us
South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) provides the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK. We provide services to people living in the London Boroughs of Bromley, Bexley, Croydon, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark and specialist services in Kent and Medway. We provide care and treatment to help people recover from mental illness, or people with addictions to drugs or alcohol. We provide inpatient services at four hospital sites, and outpatient and psychiatric liaison services across over 80 community sites. The SLaM Youth Volunteering Programme is generously supported by the Pears Foundation, the Big Lottery Fund and Maudsley Charity. The programme will provide opportunities for volunteers aged 16-25 within SLaM services. It is hoped that the programme will give young people an introduction to working within mental health services, learn more about the NHS, develop skills and experience for future employment or education and gain person confidence.
