5 #strongnotskinny Exercise Ideas for the Time-Poor and Gym-Less
According to The Guardian, over 40% of us won’t even manage to keep our New Year’s resolutions beyond the end of January. However, at Vinspired HQ, we’re committed to making our fitness goals stick this year. As we launch Do Something UK’s Sweat Face Selfie campaign, we aim to lead by example.
The biggest barriers to maintaining fitness resolutions are time constraints and lack of access to equipment. To tackle this, we’ve devised five innovative exercise ideas perfect for those short on time or gym access.
1. Filing Cabinet Weight Lifts
Think filing is a thankless task? Think again! Select your largest file and perform a few reps with it in your hand. This simple exercise can help you build bigger biceps in no time.
2. Print Sprint
Got a multi-page document to print? Click print, retrieve the first page from the printer, sprint back to your desk, drop off the paper, and run back for the next one. This exercise is a great cardio workout!
3. Step and Tone Stairs
Ditch the lift and take the stairs. Challenge yourself by timing each ascent. Can you beat your personal best?
4. Wheelie Chair Tricep Dips
You don’t even need to leave your seat for this exercise. Grip the arms or outer edge of your chair, bend your elbows at a 90-degree angle, and lower yourself towards the floor. Straighten your arms to return to the start position. These dips will tone your arms quickly.
5. Stationary Stretch
Place any stationary you use daily on a high shelf. Stretching to reach these items exercises your muscles and keeps them supple, offering an alternative to yoga.
Whatever your preferred workout, make sure to snap and share a #sweatfaceselfie. You could win £500 while raising awareness about the importance of daily exercise.
