Have a good week!

A Good Week

This week, we’re calling on everyone to get involved in a global celebration of good!

Here at vInspired, we're delighted to be supporting A Good Week, a not-for-profit initiative, founded and led by social innovation and research agency A Very Good Company.

Launching today and running until the 24th June, it is a fantastic opportunity to get involved and celebrate all of the good that happens everywhere! Over the course of this week, the spotlight will be shined on the people, communities and businesses who do good in all sorts of areas of life.

We’re all about helping young people to do good things and believe that young people can be a powerful force for positive social change. Over the last 6 years, we’ve helped over 1 million young people to change their communities for the better through volunteering and social action projects.

Supporting social cohesion and community

The week is split into seven themes, with a vast array of events to participate in to really celebrate all that is good. These themes are:

• consumer power

• environment and energy

• social cohesion and community

• happiness, flow and joy

• innovation and the power of entrepreneurship

• employment and poverty

• making something out of new (waste)

We are delighted to be supporting the social cohesion and community theme on Wednesday. Through blogging, taking part in a live Twitter Q&A and filming a video, we will be showing you how we support young people to do good things in their communities – and how you can too.

Do Something UK

As part of the week, we will also be talking about the launch of Do Something in the UK, vInspired’s newest programme. We have decided to bring this over from the US to help engage mass audiences of young people and to create a new generation of British social activists.

Do Something is one of the best known charities in the USA, and much like vInspired, harnesses the creativity and energy of young people, aged 14 – 25 to tackle issues they care about. It uses digital platforms to create a community of positive young people, working together to create mass change.

Reverse Riots will be Do Something’s first campaign (which will launch 3rd July) and seeks to challenge and ultimately shift the negative perceptions of young people amplified by last year’s riots.

Get involved

During A Good Week, please help us to shine the spotlight on amazing young people and celebrate the good they do, every day, to help make our society a better place.

Get involved now or join the conversation on twitter using the hashtag #AGoodWeek.

We'll be announcing more information about Do Something UK later this week. In the meantime register your interest in our first campaign by visiting reverseriots.com or follow us @DoSomethingUK #reverseriots
