Star Pupil Winners Announced
In celebration of the European Year of Volunteering 2011, Vinspired launched an exciting contest to recognize exceptional young volunteers who are using their skills and creativity to make a difference in their communities. This initiative highlights the impact of young volunteers in areas like education, civic engagement, and entrepreneurship.
Meet the Winners
JJ from St Andrew’s C.E High School for Boys, Worthing
JJ has been instrumental in fundraising for a new youth centre in Worthing. As a member of the Worthing Youth Council, he effectively represents the youth voice. Additionally, JJ volunteers with his school’s technical team, managing sound and lighting for various events.
Anice from Queen Elizabeth’s Girls’ School, Barnet
Anice has campaigned for student welfare and Amnesty International, is a member of the Youth Parliament, and initiated a fair trade stall at her school.
Rosie from Heaton Manor School, Newcastle
Rosie established a peer mentoring program, “Buddy Up,” in her school. She promotes the program through Governors meetings and staff briefings, and actively mentors younger students.
Jordan from Roseberry Sports and Community College, County Durham
Jordan raises awareness about sustainability and healthy eating through his school’s horticulture group. He also participates in the Peer Supporters group, assisting younger students.
