Team v Residential 2: An Inspiring Weekend
My internship at Vinspired kicked off with an incredible experience at the second Team v residential. This program offers 18-25-year-olds the chance to lead social action projects, fostering leadership and community improvement skills. The excitement was palpable among the over 40 Team v leaders who arrived in London, ready to reconnect with their community.
The room buzzed with amazement as we celebrated the collection of over 19,000 food items to support 6,000 individuals affected by food poverty. Despite challenges faced during their first campaign, the Team v leaders demonstrated resilience and were eager to dive into Campaign 2.
Campaign 2: Combating Loneliness
The big reveal of the next campaign was highly anticipated. Campaign 2 focuses on reducing loneliness and isolation among older adults—a mission that resonates deeply with many. Experts from the Campaign to End Loneliness and the Beth Johnson Foundation highlighted the severe health impacts of loneliness, comparable to smoking and obesity. Workshops emphasized the value of intergenerational collaboration, illustrating how different generations can learn from each other.
On Monday, our Team v leaders hit the ground running, engaging local agencies and setting their projects in motion. Their creativity, collaboration, and passion make them outstanding ambassadors for Vinspired.
