Vinspired is Going Global
Vinspired is taking its mission to the next level by expanding globally. For the past two years, Vinspired has been at the forefront of launching innovative social action campaigns as the UK partner of DoSomething.org, one of America’s largest youth social change organizations.
This week marks a significant milestone as we join forces with Do Something partners worldwide to unveil a new Do Something web platform. This platform will offer a plethora of opportunities to engage in campaigns addressing a wide array of issues—from food poverty and health concerns to environmental challenges and community sports.
A Global Movement of Young Activists
Currently, five groundbreaking campaigns are live, with more issues and causes being introduced throughout the year. Our partners from Botswana, Canada, Congo, Indonesia, Nigeria, and the United States will utilize the same platform, fostering an international community of young social activists.
DoSomething.org engages 2.7 million young people, aged 13 to 25, in the US. Similarly, Vinspired has been spearheading campaigns under the Do Something UK banner since 2012, tackling critical issues such as online trolling and the negative portrayal of youth. Our ongoing Swing the Vote campaign empowers young voices in the lead-up to the General Election 2015.
Expanding Impact Through Digital Innovation
The new platform enhances our ability to build on the impactful campaigns already executed in the UK and mirror the outstanding success of DoSomething.org in the US. It provides young people with simple and meaningful ways to engage with causes online.
Thousands have already participated in our Do Something UK campaigns, but we recognize that there are many more passionate young individuals eager to contribute. Our research indicates that 80% of those under 25 took action on issues they care about last year, with online platforms like social media campaigns (67%) and online petitions (52%) being the most popular means of participation. The new platform will allow even more young people to make a difference, whether on the ground or via their mobile devices.
We are thrilled to collaborate with our Do Something partners and are eager to establish new partnerships across the UK to provide exciting opportunities for young people to enact change.
