Volunteering SOS: Got an Hour to Spare to Break a World Record This Weekend?
Are you passionate about volunteering in London for the environment and looking to make a tangible impact? This weekend, the call is out for volunteers in the bustling city of London, and your participation could make history. The MicroLoan Foundation is organizing an exciting event at Chiswick Community School, aiming to break the Guinness World Record for the longest line of pennies.
Londoners, this is your chance to engage in a meaningful activity that not only supports charities looking for volunteers but also contributes to the global effort of alleviating poverty. The goal? To gather over 1,000 volunteers to lay down more than 50 miles of pennies—an effort equivalent to the journey from Chiswick to Oxford!
The Mission
The MicroLoan Foundation, known for its impactful work in microfinance, supports impoverished women in sub-Saharan Africa by providing small loans, business education, and continuous mentoring. These efforts significantly enhance financial literacy and education, empowering women to transform their lives and communities.
By volunteering, you will not only aid in breaking a world record but also contribute to the Foundation’s mission of combating homelessness and poverty through sustainable financial solutions.
How You Can Participate
The ‘Pennies for Life’ event will take place at Chiswick Community School on Burlington Lane. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, and public transport is recommended due to limited parking. Chiswick Station is a short walk away, and the E3 bus stops directly outside the school.
To join this historic event, gather your friends and family, and register your team to participate in this noble cause.
