We're teaming up with 4Music to get more young people volunteering

Q:What do Lawson, Goldierocks, Wretch 32 and Rickie and Melvin have in common?

A:They’re doing good things with vInspired and 4Music this Christmas.

To say we’ve got exciting news this week is possibly an understatement. It’s exciting for all charities across the UK who are looking for young volunteers. And more importantly for young people who are looking for something good to do.

vInspired's teaming up with the nation’s number one music TV channel 4Music, for a year-long partnership to tackle youth unemployment in the UK.

We’re working together on a number of campaigns to promote the benefits of volunteering as a career development tool with loads of opportunities for young people to get involved through vinspired.com our volunteering hub.

Two hour Christmas show

In the run-up to Christmas 4Music are showing a series of five short-films culminating in a whopping standalone two-hour show. The short films follow a number of UK celebrities – including chart topping British rapper Wretch 32, boyband Lawson, radio DJ and presenter Goldierocks plus presenting duo Rickie and Melvin - as they volunteer at local charities. The final show is presented by Rickie and Melvin and includes the short-film highlights alongside the top 20 tracks this Christmas. All the programmes will be broadcast on-air and online at 4Music.com.

The shows will highlight the benefits of volunteering for a good cause and how it can make applicants more attractive to prospective employers. With youth unemployment at record highs, we know that young people are looking for positive ways to give their CVs a boost.
