
Youth Wellbeing Events Volunteer
We are launching weekly youth wellbeing events in Ilford, London, and are currently looking for volunteers to support us with these events! These will be every Wednesday 3pm-7pm
About this Opportunity
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Supporting activities targeted at 14-25 year olds, in a safe and inclusive space
- Activities include gaming, film club, arts and crafts, discussion and debates, sports and fitness, mindfulness, homework support and more
- You will sometimes be encouraging them to participate, other times just being a warm presence and listening ear, and able to adapt to what's needed
- Any concerns with attendees to be reported promptly to Free Your Mind staff present at events with you

Skills needed:
No experience necessary, but the following would be helpful:
- Good people skills
- Confidence
- A passion for young people
- Well-organised, reliable, punctual and able to travel to and from Ilford central on Wednesdays, 3-7pm
- A creative mind, particular interests and skills to lead or support different activities
A current DBS on the Update service would be an advantage, or willing to have a DBS check done through Free Your Mind CIC.
Events are Wednesdays 3pm - 7pm in Ilford central area.

Free Your Mind CIC
We’re a small grassroots non-profit focusing on tailored therapy for child victims of Domestic Abuse. Our mission is to support those who’ve experienced childhood Domestic Abuse, addressing trauma and mental health struggles.As a response to the UK’s domestic abuse crisis, we specifically target the 1.8 million children affected, acknowledging that 1 in 3 may face mental health issues linked to witnessing abuse at home.Founded in 2013 by our Managing Director, Natasha Benjamin, who faced her own mental health challenges due to a similar upbringing, Free Your Mind CIC is dedicated to empowering children and young people through qualified practitioners with lived experience. We aim to help them overcome trauma and thrive, countering the long-term effects of Domestic Abuse.We are now launching weekly youth wellbeing events in Ilford, London, and are currently looking for volunteers to support us with these events - and also other opportunities in the future.
