Your Role in Creating Change

Are you passionate about creativity, community and making a difference?

Theatre Troupe is a London-based arts organisation supporting children aged 7–12 who have experienced adversity or mental distress. Through theatre, art and one-to-one mentoring, we help young people build confidence, belonging and brighter futures.

We’re now recruiting volunteer mentors and chorus members for our 2025-26 programmes across Tower Hamlets. Volunteers come from all walks of life — from local community members, artists, mental-health professionals, to people with lived experience of neurodiversity or mental distress. You don’t need theatre experience — just empathy, reliability and a willingness to show up.

We ask for a commitment of at least one school term (weekly after-school sessions) as our work is based on consistent relationships and attachment-informed practice.

✅ Full training including safeguarding & the Theatre Troupe Model
✅ Travel expenses covered + refreshments during sessions
✅ Opportunities for personal and professional development

Join a warm, creative team and make a genuine difference — not only to a young person’s life, but to your own growth too.

About Theatre Troupe

Life-changing theatre, with amazing young people

Theatre Troupe works with children and young people with complex mental health problems as a result of adverse childhood experiences, through the radical nature of theatre.

Our trauma-informed, research-based work, which draws on Attachment Theory and neurobiological attunement, offers children the chance to be part of a creative family making theatre together. Through mentoring, participation in all the art forms required to make theatre, and the chance to be part of a show, we help children heal from distress and move onto brighter futures.
