About the Role

Deputy Area Coordinators play a key supporting role within North West First Responder Group, assisting the Area Coordinator with the day-to-day running of activities within a designated area. They help ensure volunteers are supported, community engagement opportunities are delivered, and local projects and initiatives are developed in line with the charity's aims and objectives.

The Deputy Area Coordinator acts as a deputy to the Area Coordinator and may be required to lead local activities or represent the area when the Area Coordinator is unavailable. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about their community and would like to gain leadership and management experience within a growing volunteer-led charity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Area Coordinator with the management and development of the local volunteer team.
  • Assist with the coordination of volunteering opportunities, community events, and fundraising activities.
  • Help recruit, welcome, and support new volunteers.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive volunteering environment.
  • Assist with organising CPR & AED awareness sessions and other community engagement activities.
  • Support projects relating to public access defibrillators and community resilience.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with local organisations, businesses, and community groups.
  • Help ensure local activities are delivered in accordance with charity policies, procedures, and governance requirements.
  • Assist with maintaining records and providing updates to the Area Coordinator and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Act as a representative of North West First Responder Group within the local community.
  • Undertake delegated responsibilities from the Area Coordinator and provide leadership when required.
