About the Organisation

Brandon Carrside Youth and Community Project

We provide seven Youth Work sessions a week for 13-19 year olds and last year we worked with over 350 young people. We provide Advice, support and guidance to the Young People of Brandon, Meadowfield and Langley Moor, Esh Winning, New Brancepeth and Ushaw Moor in a professional, confidential and safe environment. We also offer issue based workshops, offer the opportunity to gain awards, provide offsite visits and residential visits to enrich the young people’s lives and make them culturally aware. All work that is delivered from the Club is planned, monitored and evaluated with the Young People themselves. We also provide several ICT drop in sessions, a Boxing Club and Fitness classes to the community and young people helping to promote healthily living and encourage community participation. Through our sessions and projects we hope to combat and help people through their issues and help them to improve their confidence, self esteem and self worth.Fitness sessions cater for adult users aged 16+, and Information advice and guidance drop in services are also available for adult community members. We also have a laundry service available for those in need who may have no, or broken facilities. We have a new coffee club starting for the elderley during the days, we have just started a Duke of Edinburgh Group and deliver sessions in 4 villages. The opportunities for volunteering ar enedless, form assising in the tuck shop, to opurchasing resources ato directing the delivery programme. We encourage peope to commit as much or as little time as possible.
