Make a meaningful difference in someone's life by volunteering as a Marie Curie Companion, offering much needed companionship, emotional support and a helping hand during a challenging time.
About this Opportunity
- Visit people in their homes or care setting
- Provide friendly support and care
- Help with tasks like making tea/coffee or going to appointments
- Offer emotional support and signpost to services
- Provide information and support around fuel poverty and accessing available resources
- Complete a short report at the end of each visit
- Empathy, patience, and good listening skills
- Reliability and a commitment to weekly visits
- Respect for privacy and dignity
- Familiarity with basic IT – Microsoft Office, Email
- Full training over 1 day and ongoing support throughout
- Reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses each month

Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness they’re likely to die from.The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life.
