Trustee Treasurer

Walk N Talk 4 Mental Health is a growing Hampshire charity that brings people together through walking and conversation to improve mental health, reduce loneliness and challenge stigma.

We're looking for a Trustee Treasurer to join our Board and provide strategic financial oversight as we continue to grow. This is a governance role rather than a day-to-day bookkeeping position.

Working closely with our Trustee Accountant, fellow trustees and Project Leader, you'll help ensure the charity remains financially sustainable, well governed and able to achieve its long-term vision.

Key responsibilities include:

1. - Providing strategic oversight of the charity's finances.
2. - Helping the Board understand the charity's financial position through clear reporting and discussion.
3. - Reviewing budgets, management accounts and cash flow.
4. - Supporting financial planning and helping identify financial risks and opportunities.
5. - Ensuring appropriate financial controls and governance are in place.
6. - Working with the Trustee Accountant to maintain robust financial processes.
7. - Contributing to Board discussions and helping shape the charity's future direction.

We're looking for someone with finance, accounting, treasury or senior financial management experience who enjoys working collaboratively. Previous trustee experience isn't essential—we're happy to support first-time trustees who bring relevant professional skills and a commitment to our mission.

Board meetings are held regularly, with some additional time to review financial information and provide advice as required. Much of the role can be carried out remotely, although we're particularly interested in hearing from people based in or around Hampshire.

As Trustee Treasurer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring that growth is built on strong financial foundations. Your expertise will help us make informed decisions, manage resources responsibly and demonstrate accountability to our funders, supporters and beneficiaries.

By providing strategic financial oversight, you'll help us build a resilient charity that can continue supporting people experiencing mental health challenges for years to come.
